Durham University OFS Laboratories

Across four university buildings, the refurbishment of 15 specialist laboratories for the Archaeology, Engineering and Physics departments was delivered through carefully phased sequencing to allow departments to remain operational throughout.

Each laboratory required a tailored approach, balancing technical requirements with safe, live academic environments. Works were coordinated across departments to minimise disruption while upgrading the functionality, safety and performance of the spaces.

The completed laboratories now provide modern, practical environments that support teaching, research and evolving academic needs across multiple disciplines.
