Impact is measured by what a project leaves behind. Better spaces, stronger local supply chains, skills opportunities, and benefits that extend beyond the site boundary. We plan for that impact from the start and deliver it through practical commitments tailored for each client.
Impact
Social Value
Value beyond the build
We believe great projects do more than transform spaces – they uplift the communities around them.
On every project Aptus will work with the client to produce a Sustainability and Social Value Plan through which we deliver tangible outcomes covering topics such as supporting the local supply chain, encouraging young people to pursue careers in the construction industry, mental health and wellbeing, and environmental sustainability.
We actively seek ways to create lasting positive impact beyond the build itself. That means building strong connections with local people, bespoke social value strategies, nurturing talent, and keeping economic benefits close to home.We can support environmental and sustainability targets and BREEAM assessment through the construction process – from sustainable procurement of materials such as FSC certified timber, working with local SME subcontractors, monitoring energy and water use on site, diverting waste from landfill by using take-back schemes and recycling, and reducing emissions through coordination of deliveries to site.
Our projects are a great chance to add valuable learning opportunities and we welcome students and early-career professionals for site visits, deliver training workshops, live design briefs, talks, and practical employability and career guidance.
Wherever possible, we prioritise local trades, suppliers, and specialist partners-supporting regional skills, expertise, and investment to strengthen the communities we work in. Every project is unique, so we tailor our approach to fit its location and opportunities, always with the goal of leaving a meaningful legacy.
Local Impact
Legacy & Community Benefit
As a North based team, we feel passionately about giving back to the region. Whether that’s time, skills or opportunities, it is a big part of why we do what we do. The overall positive ripple effects our spaces have on local economies and environments is where a project’s true value can often be measured. Leaving a legacy that can inspire the next generation, while still respecting and celebrating the past. Our heritage work gives us the privilege of preserving and transforming some iconic regional buildings for the next generation to enjoy. Our team is always looks for ways to involve local people along the way.
Partnerships & Collaborations
Joint approach. Shared goals.
We believe collaboration leads to the best outcomes. Partnership is central to everything we do. From the people that we work with, to those that for us. Collaboration with users, and the wider community and industry strengthens each project and the wider impact it delivers outside of the site boundary. Our flat structure ensures clients always have direct access to senior decision-makers – no unnecessary layers. We value transparency, straightforward communication and long-term relationships with supply chain partners that strengthens our ability to mobilise quickly, stay agile and deliver efficiently.
