Delivery of a fast-track summer refurbishment programme for Newcastle University, upgrading 313 student rooms across three flagship buildings within an 8-week academic calendar window.

On a time-critical summer build, early engagement and close collaboration with the University estates team and our trusted supply chain were essential to success.

The programme relied on:

Programme and delivery

Planned and delivered in 8 weeks, this project demanded tight sequencing, early decision-making and clear site logistics.

Works were delivered in parallel across the three flagship buildings Kensington Terrace, Park Terrace and Park House. Close coordination with the University’s estates and accommodation teams supported a carefully planned phased programme of works, access planning, inspections and staged handover.

Outcome

The programme was completed within the University’s summer build window, delivering 313 refurbished rooms across three buildings, ready for occupation at the start of term. The project demonstrates Aptus’ ability to deliver high-volume accommodation refurbishments at pace and work agiley when deadline are immoveable. The refurbished accommodation delivers bright, functional and welcoming student rooms ready for the new academic year.
